Hi! My name is Aru.
My journey as a writer started when I was 18. I wrote my first fantasy novel in Harry Potter-esque style with a school for kids with special abilities. I posted it on my account, where I was writing book reviews for a long time. I received a lot of feedback from my readers, and that’s when I understood that this was my calling. I fell in love with writing, not just because that was the easiest and most sincere way of showing myself, but most importantly because I felt like I could affect people. I could change their mood, way of thinking, and attitudes. I could plant important ideas in their heads.
That realization grew new wings behind my back because I always wanted to help people but never knew how. It also gave me a sense of responsibility while I write due to the power I gain through writing. Then, I asked myself: how do I want to use this power to help people? The answer came right away: in a way that I needed help all this time. I always wanted to read about people struggling with psychological disorders because I had one, but it was sort of a taboo topic in our society. I wanted to connect with characters who have a wide range of psychological states to see how they handle the difficulties that come with it, how they can still live normal lives, fall in love, grow, and change the world.
So, I started writing about people struggling with depression, OCD, suicidal ideations, hypochondria, eating disorders, mood regulation disorders, and much more. I have a mission to make those topics normal in our society so that people with such diseases have a voice to speak up and seek help.
